GGII and GGRenewable Energy Inc in conjunction with Philipinne partner Bacavalley Energy Inc this week started a project to upgrade an exiting BEI Methane Trapment facility in San Pedro with US$120 million waste-to-energy technology.

The upgrade will include 4 x 1MW anaerobic digesters capable of processing 400 tons of food waste per day which will be used as feedstock for 4 x new 1MW GE Turbines and 5 x moduler hybrid pyrolysis plants.

The new upgrades will ensure that the facility can produce 18MW of electricty and 36,000 litres of bio-diesel every day and will assist the local council in redcing its landfill amounts, currenlty estimated to be over 600 metric tons per day.

The new project. which is expected to be completed by the end fo 2019, will employ in excess of 100 locals and be able to provide power to over 11,000 homes.
